Sheffield RUFC’s commitment to developing young players and creating opportunities to enjoy rugby has been highlighted in a recent feature published by The Star.
The article looks at the club’s Mini and Junior sections, the pathway from grassroots rugby through to the senior game, and the wider benefits rugby can provide for young people both on and off the pitch.
It also highlights the journeys of players who have progressed through the Sheffield setup, including Men’s Club Captain Ben Whitney, as well as the club’s work to make rugby accessible to more young people through free playing kit and support from the Sheffield Rugby Community Foundation.
Sheffield RUFC welcomes boys and girls from Under 7s through to Colts, with dedicated opportunities for girls through Sheffield Swans. New players are welcome to come along to Abbeydale Park and experience a training session, with no trials and no pressure to join.
